Representation of political conflicts in history textbooks

This research scrutinizes the representation of political conflict within contemporary Indonesian history textbooks. The question is about how textbooks present conflicts in historiography for younger generation frame interests, nation-building, and demand reconciliation transformation. Discourse Historical Analysis was used as method, particularly investigating from analysis nomination, predication, argumentation, perspectivation, intensification. object History textbook schools. Data techniques are carried out with discourse historical through nominations, predicates, arguments, perspectives. findings show that represented two forms narrative logic. first a simple plot heroism logic to Indonesia 1945 1965. second cooperative-constructive emphasizes rather than conflictual process presenting 1965 1998. Those logics consist binary system schizophrenic feeling shows confusion historians narrating textbook. Therefore, chance take advantage supporting transformation can be hard achieve. historian has find an alternative approach solve problem effort support society.
